The City of Jacksonville hosts many special events throughout the year to include the Jacksonville Jazz Festival and the Starry Nights Series at Metropolitan Park. Located in Downtown Jacksonville on the St. Johns River across from Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, Metropolitan Park is the venue of choice for an evening outdoors. Guests enjoy the public docking space, playground, picnic area, landscaped gardens and riverfront walk that this charming plot of nature offers.

Other special events include World of Nations, Sea and Sky Spectacular, Florida-Georgia Football game, Veterans Day Parade, Jacksonville Light Parade and New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration.

The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra offers a full range from classics to pop. The 2008-2009 season will kick off in September with “West Side Story” and in February, 2009 we will be treated to the opera “Turandot”.

The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, Jacksonville Maritime Museum, Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art display art treasures from around the world.

The Museum of Science and History (MOSH) provides educational programs, interactive exhibits, historic artifacts and the opportunity for visitors to gaze at the stars or learn about astronomy at the Alexander Brest Planetarium. Informative and fun programs for children of all ages.

The Times-Union Center for Performing Arts, Prime Osborn Convention Center and The Florida Theatre host Broadway musicals, ballets, dramatic theatre and conventions.

Stellers Gallery, currently one of the longest operating, privately owned art galleries in Northeast Florida, has locations in the historic San Marco area, as well as in Ponte Vedra and Neptune Beach. The gallery houses a variety of styles ranging from Conservative and Traditional to Expressionist, Abstract and Whimsical. Artists featured originate from Russia, the Middle East, France and Spain, California, New York, Atlanta and Florida. Stellers proudly supports local artists in Jacksonville and encourages their creative expression.
